2018 Post-Convention Wrap-up: We The People

What do you believe God is calling the Diocese of Oregon to do and be now and in the future?

This was Bishop Michael’s question for us at Convention. Attendees spent time in individual reflection and table discussions, then filled a wall with post-it notes sharing their hopes, suggestions, and challenges for the people of the Episcopal Church in Western Oregon.

Out of these many ideas came the word cloud above, highlighting the concepts that came up most frequently. The notes themselves have been compiled and will become part of the work of the visioning committee Bishop Michael announced at Convention, which will be led by Rick Grimshaw, the Rev. Raggs Ragan, and the Rev. David Sweeney.

The Bishop’s Cross Award

Congratulations to the Rev. James and Pamela Boston, recipients of the Bishop’s Cross Award!

In delivering this honor, Bishop Michael spoke of the myriad ways this couple has served The Episcopal Church over the past decades. From local parishes to international leadership in the Global Episcopal Mission Network, the Bostons have blessed and inspired people around the world with their joy and faithfulness.
